GILTS: Gilts edging higher at start of Thursday's trade but volume is very low
and there has been little data or comments seen to direct markets so far with
key events seen later in the day. UK 10-yr Gilt is -0.4bp at 1.296% with yield
curve shifting slightly lower.
- The main news overnight was that US and China apparently held talks of trade
and that the US was willing to hold further conversations in a sign that could
limit the impact of additional tariffs.
- Looking ahead the UK government is expected to release the long awaited Brexit
white paper that provides details on how the government plans to leave Brexit
and the future relationship it will have with the EU afterwards. Esys will be on
an response from both sides of the debate (Eurosceptics and Remainers).
- US President trump is also due to arrive in the UK later today so any comments
on the US/UK relationship will be keenly sort.
