Gove-We Take +ve View On Reciprocating EU Contingency Measures If No Deal

Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove has said that the gov't is looking very closely at, and takes a 'positive view' on reciprocating the contingency measures put forward by the EU if no deal is reached on an FTA,but that no decision has been taken yet.

  • Says that the contingency measures in relation to fisheries were the most difficult to get on board with.
  • The contingency measures would see EU trawlers in UK waters and vice versa for six months into 2021 even with no deal in place.
