Government Holds Firm Stance on Weapons Supply to Ukraine

  • Hungary is taking a significant role in strengthening the eastern flank of NATO, the Hungarian defence minister said, as per MTI, following a meeting with his Bucharest Nine counterparts in on Wednesday. The government continues to deny its support to any weapons shipments to Ukraine as "any such transports would protract the war and result in further escalation", he said.
  • The European Commission’s proposals for banning imports of Ukrainian farming products are “insufficient”, Poland’s EU Affairs Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sek said in an interview. He added that the 5 countries negotiating with the EU, which include Hungary, want the list of banned products to be longer than in the proposals.
