Grounded Dark-Fleet Tanker Has Cargo Removed

OIL

A shadow-fleet tanker that ran aground close to Indonesia is having its cargo removed, according to Bloomberg.

  • Oil-spill boons have been deployed around the Liberty – the vessel in question. This is a precautionary measure as there has not yet been an oil spill.

  • The “dark fleet” has grown in usage following sanctions on Russian barrels and the G7 price cap on Russian oil.
