Hawkesby Reaffirms Stance

Nothing to shock in the latest round of comments from RBNZ Assistant Governor Hawkesby, hitting both BBG and RTRS:

  • Preparing to use other monetary policy tools if required, including a negative OCR, funding for lending scheme, foreign asset purchases and interest rate swaps.
  • The size and composition of the balance sheet will be a more active tool for the Bank.
