India Set to Remain Key Outlet for Russian Oil: Russian Ambassador

Russia has been the second largest oil exporter to India since May according to Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov.

  • "Perhaps some problems might emerge in some particular cases, but on the whole, I can confirm that energy exports from Russia to India have grown multifold over the past months," Alipov said in a tv interview.
  • On the future of oil exports from Russia to India, Alipov said - "there is every reason to assume that they would continue to be positive, as this meets both countries' interests”
  • May statistics showed that Russia became the second largest oil supplier to India, increasing its share in India's oil imports to 17% from 2%, he said.
