Indian Fuel Consumption Slips in November m/m

Indian fuel consumption fell in November after reaching a four-month peak in October according to PPAC data.

  • Total consumption in November fell by 2.8% to 18.72 million tonnes from 19.26 million tonnes in October.
  • Diesel sales decreased by 1.4% m/m to 7.53 million tonnes.
  • Gasoline sales in November were 0.4% lower than the previous month at 3.13 million tonnes.
  • "The immediate outlook is for gasoline demand to drop back from Diwali peaks and trend around 850,000 barrels per day over the next 2-3 months." According to Kpler analyst Viktor Katona.
