Iran to Sign Contracts to Add 390kbpd of Crude Capacity

Iran is planning to sign six contracts for the development of eight new oil and gas projects that will add 390kbpd of new capacity, government spokesman Ali Bahadori-Jahromi said, cited by Argus.

  • The deals are due to be signed on 20 March, but there been not mentioning on a timeframe for the completion of the projects.
  • Most of the new contracts will be signed with private-sector companies, Bahadori-Jahromi said.
  • Iran this week started oil production in is western Khuzestan oil and gas heartland with a combined crude capacity of 150kbpd, which lifts Iran’s crude capacity to 3.9mbpd, from 3.8mbpd late last year according to Argus estimates.
