Iraq Sent Request To Turkey To Resume Oil Flows

Iraq has sent an official request to Turkey to restart oil export from Iraq’s northern fields to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, after Iraq’s Deputy Oil Minster said Iraq is still awaiting response from Turkey to resume flows, sources told Reuters.

  • Iraq’s request to Turkish energy company BOTAS came after traders buying crude from the Kurdistan region signed contracts with SOMO, sources said.
  • Iraq’s Deputy Oil Minister said on Wednesday: “We are waiting on the green light from Turkey. The Turkish side is still conducting checks on the pipeline.
  • Turkey halted pipeline flows from Iraq’s northern fields on 25 March, removing around 470kbpd of crude oil flows from the market.
