FOREX: It was a limited session for the majors. The NZD made fresh session lows
on the back of ANZ "no longer forecasting that the next move in the (RBNZ's) OCR
will be up." i.e. suggesting that it will be on hold for the foreseeable, while
the AUD ignored political uncertainty surrounding PM Turnbull.
- Cable stuck to a narrow range and last trades unch. at ~$1.2750. Weekend news
flow re: Brexit has done little for the pair in early dealing, with Brexiteers
Rees-Mogg & Farage continuing pushing to push for a harder Brexit, while the
Telegraph reported that Britain will recognise some EU regulations in the event
of a no-deal Brexit to ensure that the country does not grind to a halt. Over
the weekend UK Brexit Sec. Raab said that securing a deal was still "the most
likely outcome" - while noting that making alternative arrangements was the
"responsible" thing to do.
- USD/TRY moved back above TRY6.00 on WSJ reports that "the Trump admin has
rejected an effort by Turkey to tie the release of a U.S. pastor with relief for
a major Turkish bank facing billions of $'s in U.S. fines."
- Fed's Bostic & BoC Deputy Gov. Wilkins headline on Monday.
