Japan Nov Household Spending Up 1.1% y/y

  • Average monthly pending by Japanese households with two or more people rose 1.1% y/y in November, following the previous month's 1.9% rise.
  • Spending on food rose 1.7% y/y, lower than the previous 1.9% increase.
  • Spending on fuel, lighting and water rose 10.6% y/y, faster than the 7.4% gain registered in October.
  • The average real income of households with salaried workers increased 0.6% y/y, slower than the 2.5% y/y gain reported last month.
  • Household spending fell 1.8% on a monthly basis in November, compared with the previous month's growth of 2.1% m/m.
