JAPAN: *** Japan's latest weekly international security flow data showed a sharp
uptick in Japanese purchases of foreign bonds, with the weekly metric exhibiting
deviation from the 5-Year seasonal average during the month of November (both
above & below the average during the month). The 4-week rolling total ended the
month well in positive territory, after staring the month deep in negative
territory. This was the result of 2 weeks of large purchases, but the measure
was volatile owing to the large swings in purchases/sales.
- Foreign purchases of Japanese bonds were steadier during the month, with the
4-week rolling sum only moving into negative territory on 1 occasion.
