US DATA PREVIEW: JPM economist Daniel Silver eyed Friday's 8:30am ET October
Employment Report and forecasts that "nonfarm payrolls increased 325,000 in
October while the unemployment rate held at 4.2%. We believe this very strong
payroll growth figure should be viewed as payback from weather-related weakness
in September and think that the underlying trend in job growth is probably close
to the average across September and October (or even the average across a wider
range of months)."
- He added that "most of the main labor market indicators that we track have
either looked solid in both September and October, showing no clear signs of
negative effects of the recent severe weather, or weakened in September before
strengthening in October, suggesting that the labor market rebounded following
temporary disruptions."
