Kazakhstan CPC Mooring To Restart Imminently
OIL
Kazakhstan expects the CPC to complete the repairs of one of the mooring points (SPM-2) within two days, if weather allows, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said on Thursday.
- "SPM-2 will start working within a couple of days if there's no storm warning and the weather allows. SPM-2 is more than sufficient," Akchulakov said.
- He also said oil is currently being loaded into tanks at both the field and at the port in Novorossiysk.
- Kazakhstan plans to ship 1.5mn t/yr of oil via the Baky-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline starting from 2023 and will gradually increase that volume to 6-6.5mn t, he said.
- Two of the three moorings at the CPC have been out of service since August because of damage to the tanks.
- Current daily production exceeds the country’s OPEC+ output target for the first time since March.
