Korea CPI Seen Accelerating In March On Rising Agricultural Prices

  • South Korea's consumer price index (CPI) is likely to accelerate in March, exceeding February's 13-month high of 1.1% y/y growth to reach 1.5% y/y.
  • The change over the previous month could ease to -0.1% from last 0.5%.
  • The pick-up in pace for CPI is mainly due to increasing cost of agricultural products in domestic as well as higher input inflation.
  • Korea CPI is due to release on Apr 1 at 2300GMT (00800 local time Apr 2).
