Latest Newspoll Shows Incumbent Labor Party Increasing Lead

AUSTRALIA

The latest Newspoll survey from The Australian shows that primary support for the incumbent Labor Party is at 38%, up 4.5pp since the election, compared with the Coalition’s 35%, down 1.5pp. They are also ahead in all states except for Queensland, and also in all groupings based on age, sex, education, income and working status, except for retirees, over 65s and Christians.

  • The poll also found that 61% are satisfied with the performance of PM Albanese and 29% dissatisfied. And 58% have him as the preferred Prime Minister.
  • 65% between 18 and 34 back Labor compared with 35% for the Coalition.
