Libyan Mabrouk Field Touted for 2023 Restart

Libya’s NOC announced via a statement on Facebook its intention to reopen the Mabrouk field which was shut in 2015 because of terrorist attacks.

  • The NOC is aiming for a return to production in the first quarter of 2023 at rates of up to 25,000 bpd.
  • Libya is currently facing severe crude output constraints due to protests across the countries oil fields and exporting hubs resulting in production levels of around 700,000 bpd versus around 1.2mn bpd prior to the protests.
