Libyan Oil Minister Claims Country Now Producing 700,000 bpd

Libyan oil production is around 700,000 bpd according to Libyan oil minister Mohamed Oun speaking with Reuters today.

  • The same minister had said that Libyan oil production was 100,000 bpd at the end of last week causing uncertainty over official production levels in Libya currently.
  • Oun did not give details to Reuters on when or how the output level had risen.
  • The countries major producing fields and ports have been hit by a new wave of protests, but it has been unclear to what level they have impacted production and outflows from the country due to conflicting reports.
