Light Risk-Off Flows Seen As Trump's Aide Contracts Coronavirus

A light round of risk-off flows emerged as BBG ran headlines noting that one of U.S. Pres Trump's aides, who travelled with him aboard Air Force One to and from the recent debate with Joe Biden, tested positive for Covid-19. The information came from unidentified BBG sources, who said that "there was no indication that the president has contracted the virus".

  • USD & JPY firmed up a tad as a result, while the Antipodeans faced some fresh pressure. All in all, price action across G10 FX space has been relatively limited.
  • Liquidity is thinned owing to market holidays in China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and India.
  • The main data release today is U.S. NFP report, with factory orders, final durable goods orders and final U. of Mich. Survey also due out of the U.S. Elsewhere, Eurostat will publish EZ CPI data. Central bank speaker slate features Fed's Harker & Kashkari, Riksbank's Ohlsson and ECB's de Guindos & de Cos.
