Lower Russian Supplies may Trigger Italy Emergency Gas Plan

Italy may trigger an emergency gas plan if the restricted flows from Russia continue into mid next week

  • The plan could include greater output from the six operational coal plants that are due to close in 2025 due to climate change targets.
  • The plans could also request companies to voluntarily limit energy consumption but wouldn’t affect industrial production.
  • ENI have reported lower supplies from Gazprom with just 50% of requested volumes received today.
  • Italian gas storage is 54.09% full with a volume of 104.6TWh.
