BOJ: Markets were unmoved yesterday by comments from BoJ Gov Kuroda at the post
rate announcement press conference.
- Kuroda did confirm the sources story that talk of a "reversal rate" was not
intended to indicate a change in bias on policy outlook. This would seem to
confirm that it was directed instead at new BoJ member Kataoka who has called
for more easing.
- Kuroda added he saw no need to adjust YCC at the moment.
- When pressed about the next BoJ Governor (Kuroda's term ends in April 2018) he
said it would not be appropriate for him to comment.
