- Durable goods orders are expected to fall by 0.3% based on the Bloomberg
consensus and by a larger 1.0% based on an MNI survey of analysts. This follows
a 2.1% decline in April. In both cases, very weak aircraft orders are the key
factor. Boeing reported no new orders in the month and net negative orders when
cancellations are considered.
- Outside of transportation, new orders are expected to rise by 0.1% by both BBG
and MNI after a flat reading in April.
