Ministry of Finance Mulls Postponing Tax Breaks for Oil Companies

  • Kommersant report that the Ministry of Finance has proposed postponing tax breaks for oil companies. According to the calculations from a Russian consultancy, the proposed changes could increase the revenue from the mineral extraction tax by RUB1.15trln over three years.
  • The government will hold a regular weekly briefing today. Tass report that performance of the federal budget in 2022 will be discussed, as well as the situation in so-called 'new Russian' regions.
  • The Bank of Russia will publish a report on risks for financial markets and banking sector analysis later today and will also report on foreign trade statistics in April at 1400BST/1600 local time.
