MNI BRIEF: Left Behind Workers May Scar Economy: Chi Fed Evans

The Covid-19 pandemic may hurt the economy's long-term prospects by widening gaps faced by groups such as younger and low-wage workers, Chicago Fed President Charles Evans said Wednesday.

"If we don't address the longstanding disparities that have been magnified by the pandemic, we risk leaving long-term scars on our current and future workforce and the overall economy," Evans said while introducing a speaker at a conference on his district's economic outlook.
