MNI BRIEF: EZ 3-Year Inflation Expectations Unchanged In Nov
MNI (LONDON) - Eurozone consumer inflation expectations for the next 12 months inched higher in October compared to the previous month, the latest ECB survey showed, although they are still lower than any other month since September 2021.
Expectations stood at 2.5%, up from 2.4% in September. Expectations for the next 3 years was unchanged at 2.1%. With perceptions of current inflation sitting at 3.2%, the outlook over both the 1- and 3-year horizon are comofrtably below that number, the suvry showed, with ncertainty about inflation expectations over the next 12 months remained unchanged.
The ECB meets in mid-December to discuss the next policy move, with financial markets looking for another cut in the policy rate. There is little in the latest survey to tip Governing Council members from their current thing. (see MNI SOURCES: ECB Heads For 25BP Cut; Risks From Trump, Germany )
