U.S. vacation home sales continued to surge in the first half of 2021 as remote work flexibility drove buyers to purchase additional properties, the National Association of Realtors said Tuesday.
Vacation home sales rose 33% year-over-year between January and April 2021, adding to gains that began last year. "With many businesses and employers still extending an option to work remotely to workers, vacation housing and second homes will remain a popular choice among buyers," NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said in a statement.
