MNI DATA IMPACT:US MBA Mkt Composite +1.3%,Refi +3% Jun 21 Wk

     WASHINGTON (MNI) - The Mortgage Bankers Association Wednesday reported a
modest rebound in mortgage activity in the June 21 week, with activity up 1.3%
on a decline in mortgage rates.
     Here are some of the key features of the report:
     - The Refinance Index rose by 3%, while the Purchase Index fell by 1% in
the current week. 
     - The 30-year average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage fell back to 4.06%
in the current week from 4.14% in the previous week, hitting its lowest point
since September 2017. 
     - MBA said that the further decline in mortgage rates was due to the dovish
FOMC meeting statement and rate outlook. 
     - The unadjusted purchasing index was up 9% from a year earlier.
