- Bloomberg Consensus: -0.1% m/m; Previous (Jan): 0.5% m/m, 1.3% y/y
- Markets look for a slight dip in Italian retail sales in Feb...
- ...after a solid rebound in Jan which partially reversed Dec's 0.6% m/m
decline
- Jan's rebound was driven by an increase in food sales, while non-food sales
saw a marginal gain
- Looking at the less volatile 3m/3m trend, total retail sales were up just 0.1%
in Nov-Jan compared with Aug-Oct 
- A weaker labour market and waning consumer sentiment (which fell to its lowest
level in Mar since Aug 2017) look set to constrain household spending this year
- As such, retailers face a challenging outlook, with weaker demand putting
downward pressure on selling prices and thus squeezing profitability
