MNI: Two U.S.-China trade related articles from the WSJ dominated the press over
the weekend.
- The first noted that "the Trump admin plans to announce within days new
tariffs on as much as $200bn in Chinese goods."
- The second article noted that the "Chinese gov't may decline to participate in
proposed trade talks with the U.S. if the Trump admin moves forward with
additional tariffs on imported Chinese goods," citing Chinese officials. The
piece went on to note that "other officials who advise the country's leaders are
suggesting China impose limits on the sale of parts and supplies needed by U.S.
businesses, using "export restraints" to threaten their supply chains."
