New OPEC+ Meeting Possible in Near Future: Russia’s Novak

A new OPEC+ meeting is possible in the near future for the group to discuss the market situation but currently there is no need for new decisions, Russia Deputy PM Alexander Novak said, cited by Interfax.

  • "Now the date of the meeting could be determined in the near future, we will meet, look at the situation on the market," Novak said.
  • When asked whether the group is planning on an extraordinary meeting Novak said: "We will see, depending on the need."
  • "Now the price is going up a bit, the situation is more or less balanced, we cannot say that it is yet necessary to make any decisions, we're always keeping an eye on the situation," he said.
  • The 37th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting will be held on 1 June 2024 in Vienna.
