No Change Expected at NBH Meeting Later Today

HUNGARY

The Hungarian central bank rate decision is due later today at 1300BST/0800ET. The bank are unanimously expected to keep policy unchanged, with the base rate at 0.6% and the o/n rate at -0.05%.

The NBH cut rates at the prior two meetings, but higher than expected July inflation (CPI at 3.8% y/y vs. Exp. 3.1%) will stall further easing for now.

An online briefing on monetary policy is due to follow the decision with the 1430BST/0930ET, comments on NBH's bond buying (corporate & government) programme will take focus.

NBH meeting on Sept 22 should prove more informative, with econ forecasts due then.
