Norway Offshore Workers Strike Not Expected to Hit Gas Flows

Around 845 of Norway’s 7,500 offshore oil and gas production workers are planning strike action from this Sunday if wage negotiations fail.

  • Trade unions Industri Energi, Lederne and Safe have said a limited amount of oil output would be impacted while gas output would be unaffected.
  • "A strike would not initially affect Norway's gas exports, given the current situation in Europe," Safe said.
  • Norway’s Equinor have said it is too early to comment on the impact on production.
