Norway’s August Oil, Gas Output Fell MoM

Norway’s oil and natural gas production fell on the month in August, while gas production significantly lagged year-ago levels, NPD data show.

  • Total liquids production – including oil, NGL and condensate – stood at a daily average of 2.007mn barrels, above the August forecast of 1.985mn barrels, but down by 2.5% month on month.
  • Oil production in August stood at 1.79mbpd, compared with the forecast of 1.772mbpd. Oil output was down on the month from 1.836mbpd but up from 2022 levels of 1.783mbpd.
  • Natural gas production last month stood at 311.1mcm/d, 1.9% below the forecast and down by 3.5% on the month. Gas output also lagged last year’s levels by 9.8%.
