Norway’s Mongstad Refinery Shut on Fire

Equinor on Thursday shut its 240kbpd Mongstad oil refinery in Norway due to a fire in an electrical facility, the regional police said via X.

  • “The emergency services are on their way to the scene following reports of a fire in a transformer inside the facility. There is a lot of smoke in connection with the fire. No visible flames. The plant has been shut down”, the police said via X.
  • The refinery was scheduled to halt early April and early May for maintenance at the crude, petrol coke, and gasoil units as well as on one reformer, Equinor said previously.
