KIWI: NZD/USD has edged lower, last deals at $0.6758. This comes after the rate
slipped 25 pips Thursday, as NZD suffered alongside AUD after NAB hiked its
variable mortgage rates by 12-16bp. Comments from U.S. Commerce Sec Ross re:
trade deal with China being "miles and miles" away also added pressure later in
the day, although Ross did attempt to walk back his remarks later on.
- Bears need a clean break below yesterday's low/21-DMA at $0.6756/54 before
attempting a run at the 100-DMA at $0.6698. Meanwhile, the 200-DMA at $0.6768
provides the initial layer of support and a break above would open up
yesterday's high of $0.6809.
- Trade balance figures headline the NZ docket next week. Auckland will observe
a regional holiday Monday.
