KIWI
KIWI: NZD/USD last $0.6919, 11 pips lower on the day, as the greenback moved
higher overnight.
- The pair initially moved higher early into the Asia-Pac session, supported by
positive trade rhetoric out of China's MOFCOM, although a more balanced tweet
from U.S. President Trump limited the pair.
- AUD/NZD flows triggered by weak AU GDP readings briefly supported the Kiwi,
knocking AUD/NZD off session highs of NZ$1.0597, but NZD/USD softened thereafter
on the back of broader USD bid.
- Initial support seen at Monday's low of $0.6889, which protects the 200-DMA at
$0.6860. Conversely, bulls focus on yesterday's session high of $0.6970.
- NZ calendar for the remainder of this week is dry, participants will be
attentive to developments in U.S.-China trade relations & the broader risk
backdrop.
