KIWI: NZD/USD last seen at $0.6835, 20 pips worse off, with NZD underperforming
its G10 peers amidst limited risk appetite. A spillover from AUD weakness &
uncertainty re: the future of U.S.-China trade talks might have also applied
some pressure to the kiwi overnight.
- Early Asia-Pac hours saw the release of NZ current account data, which
revealed that revealed that the NZ c/a deficit widened to 3.7% from the prior
3.6%, vs. exp. Of 3.9%.
- After a brief look below the 21-DMA at $0.6830 noted overnight, bears look for
a clean breach of the level, before challenging the 50-DMA at $0.6819. On the
topside, bulls remain focused on the $0.6871-74 region, which capped gains on
Monday and Tuesday this week.
- NZ focus turns to domestic Q4 GDP, which comes out on Thursday.
