KIWI: NZD/USD round tripped to session lows of $0.6838 overnight and last deals
at $0.6868, almost unchanged on the day, as the two sides of the pair
underperform their G10 peers.
- NZD was weighed by USTR Lighthizer's hawkish trade comments & poor business
confidence reading in early Asia-Pacific dealing, but modestly recovered since.
- Bulls need a clean break above the 200-DMA at $0.6868, where the rate sits at
writing, before targeting yesterday's high of $0.6887. Conversely, bears eye the
psychological $0.6800 figure and a break below would set them to target
yesterday's low at $0.6784.
- NZ highlights this week include ANZ cons. conf. & building permits due Friday
with Trump-Xi Saturday meeting also in the spotlight.
