EURO SUMMARY: *Oct17 Euro-dollar open $1.1796, range $1.1775 to $1.1800
*Euro-dollar opened in Asia toward the middle of the $1.1781 to $1.1820 range
witnessed yesterday, where broad based US dollar strength and political
uncertainty in Europe was seen to weigh on the Euro. The Spanish government has
given Catalan leaders until Thursday to back away from declaring independence or
face the possibility of direct rule from Madrid.
*Broad-based dollar strength continued to be the theme in Asia markets, Euro
eased from $1.1800 to $1.1775, the move was helped along by Euro-yen sales as
the Nikkei pushed into negative territory before regaining its poise
*For the balance of the session the Euro consolidated around $1.1780
*Support at $1.1775 is holding, the level marks the 50% fib retracement on
$1.1670 to $1.1880, a break lower to expose $1.1750 (61.8% on the same move),
while yesterday's top of $1.1820 provides resistance.
*Eurozone CPI and German/EU ZEW surveys provide the risk hurdles for the session
ahead
