range, where US dollar strength was offset by Aussie-yen demand
*Aussie held a $0.7841 to $0.7849 ahead of local economic data
*The pair rose from $0.7847 to $0.7872 on upbeat local jobs data before fading
slightly to $0.7864. 19,800 jobs were created in September against estimates of
15,000, unemployment rate nudged down to 5.5% against expectations of 5.6%.
*Aussie then dropped from near $0.7864 to $0.7847, the move was mainly in
sympathy with a soft kiwi, but there may have been some disappointment over
China GDP, although coming in at 6.8% as per consensus, PBoC's Zhou said earlier
in the week that economic growth could rise to 7.0%, investors may have been
positioned for a better number.
*For the balance of the session the Aussie consolidated around $0.7850
