October Retail Sales Data Due at 1200GMT/0700ET

  • Retail sales data for October will be released at the top of the hour, with the annual headline figure expected to dip to 1.8% from 3.3% a month prior.
  • Itaú have noted that concerning retail sales, they expect the broad index to expand by 0.3% mom/sa (+3.8% yoy), while the core index should increase by 0.2% mom/sa (+1.1% yoy). They add there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the broad index estimates given that a new activity (wholesales specialized in food) was added to the new methodology and only 21 observations are available.
