OPEC+ Boosts October Output by 220,000 b/d: Platts Survey

OPEC+ has increased production by 220kbpd to 43.23mn b/d in October, improving the gap between target and actual production, after the group pledged to cut output by 100kbpd in October, the latest Platts survey showed.

  • Despite the monthly increase, there remained a large gap of 3.31mbpd between the groups target and actual production in October. In September, the quota shortfall stood at 3.57mbpd, the survey shows.
  • Kazakhstan posted the biggest increase in the month, with output recovering by 180kbpd to 1.40mbpd.
  • Only five countries of the coalition reduced output in October.
  • OPEC's 13 countries produced 29.72mbpd, a fall of 30kbpd from September, while Russia and eight other allies pumped 13.51mbpd, up 250kbpd.
