OPEC+ Production Rises 580,000 bpd m/m September: Argus Estimates

OPEC+ production rose by 580,000 bpd m/m to 41.31mn bpd in September according to Argus estimates – the largest monthly increase in two years. (figure includes Iran, Libya and Venezuela – exempt from production targets)

  • 13-member OPEC increased output by 410,000 bpd in September while nine non-Opec members rose by 170,000 bpd.
  • “The gains brought the 19 OPEC+ members adhering to output targets closer to their 36.92mn bpd collective production pledge. But they remained around 770,000 bpd below this” according to Argus.
  • Saudi Arabia posted the second largest OPEC+ gain in September, up by 150,000 bpd m/m to 9.05mn bpd – missing the 1mn bpd cut from July levels by 70,000 bpd.
  • Russian production grew by 30,000 bpd in September to 9.5mn bpd, putting it 50,000 bpd above its 9.45mn bpd target.
