POLAND: PM Tusk To Unveil Growth Acceleration Plan On Feb 10

  • Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that 2025 will be a "year of a breakthrough" for the Polish economy, "when it comes to (...)big investments in our security and our competitiveness," and pledged to unveil an "ambitious programme for Poland as a leader of growth" during an event hosted by the Warsaw Stock Exchange on February 10. He was speaking at the launch of the construction of Baltica 2 offshore windfarm, the country's largest-ever renewable energy project. Separately, Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski said that growing investments should boost growth in 2025. Both officials made references to 2024 GDP data, which showed that last year's growth was slightly stronger than expected at +2.9% Y/Y.
  • The police are on the lookout for ex-Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro in order to bring him to a session of a parliamentary committee tasked with conducting a probe into an alleged misuse of Pegasus spyware. The meeting starts at 09:30GMT/10:30CET but police officers have not yet been able to locate Ziobro, who was last seen in Brussels last night.
  • The NBP will publish the latest edition of its quick monitoring of the situation of enterprises at 09:00GMT/10:00CET.
