UK: PMQs ongoing now, and in the first sparring session between PM Johnson and
Labour leader Starmer, the nature of the questioning towards the prime minister
indicates a more difficult outlook for Johnson with regards to his parliamentary
performances in the future.
- Starmer uses gov'ts own slides on international comparisons of COVID-19
fatalities to quiz PM on why UK figures are so high.
- Starmer's background as a high-profile human rights lawyer already clear in a
much more forensic line of questioning to PM, who in turn is much more
comfortable with the more customary raucous PMQs sessions that took place prior
to lockdown.
- PM sets "ambition" of 200k tests per day by end of month, "and then go even
higher".
- PM confirms that the measures of rolling back lockdown will be outlined on 10
May and implemented on 11 May.
