POWER: Enea Cancels Second Tender for 750MW Gas Plant in Kozienice

POWER

Polish Enea has cancelled its second attempt within a year to secure bids for a 650-750MW new gas-fired power plant in Kozienice, citing a lack of submissions amid growing market challenges, it said, cited by ISB News.

  • The bid deadline expired on 30 Oct without submissions, leading to the tender’s cancellation. The agreement included a 12-year service contract.
  • Enea planned to use this tender to participate in December's capacity market auction for 2029 delivery year, necessary for project financing.
  • Separately, additional gas projects are underway with expected completion dates between 2024-27. This would add around 3.08GW of gas capacity.
