POWER: Fingrid to Raises Grid Fault Readiness in Southern, Eastern Finland

Fingrid has heightened fault investigation readiness for Finland's main grid in Southern and Eastern regions due to heavy snowfall and strong winds expected this week, with potential damage, particularly in the south, Fingrid said today.
- The Finnish Meteorological Institute predicts heavy snowfall and strong winds from the east/northeast on Wednesday, 20 Nov and Thursday, 21 Nov.
- Readiness will be elevated starting on 20 Nov at 4 p.m CET., continuing until 22 Nov , at 8 a.m.
- Fingrid may adjust the contingency period and affected areas if the situation changes.
- Nordic spot power prices climbed to a 10-month high for delivery on 19 Nov at €106.65/MWh amid an unplanned outage at Finland’s 1.6GW OL3 nuclear reactor, with the unit offline until 20 Nov.
