POWER: Finland Invests in Clean Energy Projects

Finland’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment granted €72.6mn of investments to 13 clean energy projects, it said.
- The government granted €44.55mn of investment for 12 projects under the country’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) as well as €28.05mn to Nordic Ren-Gas Oy for a large demonstration project on new energy technology.
- Seven new energy technology projects received investments that are supporting the production of biogas and solar PV generation.
- Five energy infrastructure and electrification projects received funding for the decarbonisation of the industrial sector.
- "It is great that clean energy projects are progressing across Finland, and with the help of this funding, we can accelerate the transition to cleaner solutions even faster and more comprehensively. Carbon capture and strengthening value chains are being promoted in several supported projects, both in the production of electrofuels in Lahti and with biogas plant projects," Minister of the Environment and Climate, Kai Mykkänen, said.
