POWER: Nordic Flow-Based Model Still Set for October Launch

The Nordic flow-based model is set to go live towards the end of October, with the first trading day scheduled on 29 October for delivery the next day, TSO Svenska Kraftnat said.

  • The model will be used in the Long-Term, Day-Ahead and Intraday timeframes to get a more detailed estimate of available cross-border capacity for the DA and ID markets amid more intermittent renewable capacity, according to TSO Fingrid.
  • The model was anticipated to be launched in 1Q24  but was delayed due to the complexity of the project.
