Putin Calls on G20 Nations to Normalise Policy to Address Global Inflation

  • Putin issued an appeal to G20 countries to normalize monetary policy and prevent the growth of global inflation.
    • "Excessive stimulus has turned into general instability, rising prices for financial assets and goods in individual markets - energy, food, etc. I repeat, the main reason for these phenomena is serious budget deficits in developed economies, this is the root cause.
    • "Their persistence creates a risk of high global inflation in the medium term, which not only increases the risks of a decline in business activity, but also consolidates and deepens inequality,"
  • Lavrov says NATO has not shown any willingness to continue the dialogue with Russia and does not want any interaction between the two parties.
    • Lavrov says that the military alliance demanded to convene the NATO-Russia council to discuss Ukraine, with their intention being to "whip up propaganda and put pressure on Russia." Lavrov said if NATO needs Russia it can be contacted through the Ambassador to Belgium
